Monroe and Rockland Chavivim Track Down Thief Together

Also on the sister division: View as Chavivim Orange County

A collaboration between Chavivim in Monroe and Monsey brought a thief to justice — proof of how much the network can do when divisions work the radio together.

The Theft in Monroe

Yesterday, a thief made off with an expensive scooter in Monroe. Fortunately, the scooter had an AirTag attached, and the owner reached out to Monroe Chavivim, who began tracking its location in real time.

Handed Off to Rockland

A little later, the AirTag pinged again — and the scooter was now in Rockland County. Rockland Chavivim took over from there, tracking it for hours around the Monsey area as the location kept lagging and updating in fits and starts.

The kind of patient, methodical tracking that doesn't make headlines until it pays off.

Spotted, Verified, Apprehended

Eventually, a Chavivim member physically spotted the scooter on the street and was able to verify it was the right one. Ramapo Police moved in and apprehended the thief, and the department is now working with Woodbury Police on the appropriate charges.

Returning the Scooter Home

This morning, Monroe Chavivim drove the owner over to the Ramapo Police for the pickup — the kind of finish-the-job moment that makes the long night of tracking worth it.

Why It Matters

This isn't just one stolen scooter. It's a model: Monroe and Rockland Chavivim sharing intel, picking up where the other left off, and partnering with multiple police departments to take a thief off the street and put property back where it belongs.
