Boy Rescued From Suzanne Lake After Falling Through Ice

Around 5 PM, two boys went after a ball on Suzanne Lake, assuming the ice would hold. Weekend daytime temperatures had been warm enough to weaken it.

One boy made it back. The other fell through and was trapped under the ice. Hatzoloh of Rockland, Chavivim, Ramapo Police, and the Monsey Fire Department all responded; a school bus driver also assisted.

Responders used a ladder and ropes to pull the boy out of the water. He was conscious at the scene and alert when transported to the hospital.
