Missing Mezuzas Retrieved by Chavivim Volunteers
During renovations at a Yiddishe store in Monsey, a contractor disposed of doorway moldings with the mezuzas still attached. The store manager noticed the missing mezuzas and workers confirmed the moldings had been thrown in the dumpster.
Eight Chavivim volunteers worked the scene for two hours and recovered every missing mezuza intact.
Chavivim coordinator David Freidman: "Double check door frames to make sure no mezuzas are left behind" before any move or demolition.
